The Garment League, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, is committed to building a solid and reputable Arizona fashion industry through professional resources, continued education, and collaborative innovation. They are seeking funding for their Fashion Industry Youth Initiative, a youth camp for ages 8 to 17. Led by industry professionals, their camp offers a comprehensive curriculum covering various aspects of the fashion trade. Moreover, it integrates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning seamlessly into the fabric of fashion education. As a result, campers not only explore their creative passions but also engage in interdisciplinary learning, preparing them for a dynamic future. This is where young minds flourish, dreams take shape, and the journey of fashion discovery awaits!

Whether through the dynamic summer program or year-round options featuring after-school and weekend classes, participants will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills, unleash their creativity, and gain insights into the multifaceted world of fashion.

Use of Proceeds & Repayment

The proceeds from this loan will be used for working capital. This will allow The Garment League to expand their program offerings and resource library.

This loan will be repaid with funds from pending grants and high production fundraising events.

Why Support this Program

“The urgency for the loan is to be able to register more youth. We currently have 359 underserved youth on our waitlist and this would help serve those families. It will also help with hiring additional staff and to purchase materials and supplies. It breaks our hearts not to be able to cater to these underserved communities now. This learning opportunity provides real workforce development as well as professional industry trades that they would otherwise not be able to obtain.”
